Isaiah Rashad Returns In A Big Way With “Smile” (Audio)

After a breakout year in 2014, TDE signee, Isaiah Rashad, was relatively quiet in 2015. The label’s soldiers have regularly taken turns allowing their label mates to shine, and it was the year for Kendrick Lamar and Jay Rock’s returns, after Rashad, ScHoolboy Q, Ab-Soul and SZA were up the year before.

As 2016 starts, it seems Rashad is poised to come back in a big way with his new release, “Smile.” The song features a slow and soulful track that Isaiah owns with his molasses thick drawl. In verse two, he minces no words about dealing with baby mama drama, but grits and smiles through it all.

This is a return to the sound that had heads clamoring about Rashad being the next one to blow with records like “I Shot U Down,” and which earned him a XXL Freshman spot after his debut album, Cilvia Demo.
