Ghostface Killah Keeps O.D.B.’s Raw Spirit Alive In His Stage Show (Video)

Last night (March 17), Wu-Tang Clan co-founder Ghostface Killah performed live in Austin, Texas as part of 2016 South By Southwest. There, Ambrosia For Heads captured the Staten Island, New York veteran MC paying tribute to his late band-mate with a performance of “Shimmy Shimmy Ya.”

G.F.K. teamed with the energetic Texas crowd to rock the 1995 Elektra Records single in crisp audio. Prior to Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s November 2004 death, the pair worked on 1995’s “Brooklyn Zoo II (Tiger Crane),” which like “Shimmy Shimmy Ya,” was a RZA production.

As an added note on Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s “Shimmy Shimmy Ya” b/w “Brooklyn Zoo” is being released on Record Store Day (April 16) as a special edition Food Stamp Coupon-shaped picture disc vinyl. Get On Down Records (who re-released the album several years back) is behind it.
