Prince Plans To Publish 2017 Memoir, “The Beautiful Ones”

In his nearly 40-year career, Prince has become a legend of music and a star of film. By 2017, the 1999 icon now wants to stand out on book shelves. Last night (March 18), Prince told a New York City pop-up concert audience that he is planning his memoir, co-written by his brother, Dan Nelson. Moreover, the title is The Beautiful Ones, taking its name from the 1984 Purple Rain ballad by Prince & The Revolution.

“This is my first [book]. My brother Dan is helping me with it. He’s a good critic and that’s what I need,” Prince said. “He’s not a ‘yes’ man at all and he’s really helping me get through this. We’re starting from the beginning from my first memory and hopefully, we can go all the way up to the Super Bowl.” It was in 2007 that Prince played the halftime show.

Prince came to an agreement with Random House imprint, Spiegel & Grau. According to The Wall Street Journal‘s sources, Prince and his brother are already 50 pages into the manuscript. The book is expected to arrive in late 2017.
