Footage Released Of Troy Ave Opening Fire At T.I. Concert (Video)

Last night (May 25), a shootout occurred during a concert headlined by T.I. at New York’s Irving Plaza. Shots were fired backstage sending the audience scattering in a panicked frenzy, leaving 3 wounded and one man dead. Of the wounded was Brooklyn rapper Troy Ave, who was shot in the leg. His bodyguard, Ronald McPhatter, was shot in the stomach and died from his injuries.

Earlier today, New York City police released footage of Ave opening fire backstage at the concert venue. Now, the Brooklyn MC has been arrested and is being charged with attempted murder, reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a weapon, and menacing. Pending ballistics tests, Ave might also face murder charges.

According to the New York Daily News, Ave was to perform at the show, which also featured Maino, with whom the Daily News claims Ave was feuding. The report alleges Maino had just left the stage when Ave peeled off five shots with a 9-mm handgun in a green room above the stage, accidentally hitting himself in the leg.

Earlier today, Maino released a statement, via Instagram, denying any ill feelings between Ave and him, saying “First and foremost, my deepest condolences to the family and friends of Ronald McPhatter who was tragically killed last night. Despite having to cope with more senseless violence, I woke up to the usual FALSE and ridiculous lies being circulated by irresponsible members of the media. What transpired was absolutely NOT the result of MYSELF or ANYBODY IN MY CAMP , ENTOURAGE, TRAVELING PARTY or ORGANIZATION IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM. We entered the venue respectfully as always and exited in shocked like all other concertgoers. For the last five years, Troy Ave, his team and I have had a great working relationship. Not only have we performed and done several songs together, but we’ve had many personal conversations about life our goals and efforts as musicians. Despite media reports to the contrary, there are no ‘ongoing beefs’ or ‘entourage issues.’ It always has been and always will be good relations between myself AND MY TEAM and Troy Ave, Hovain, Young Lito and the BSB crew. Our deepest sympathies again to family of Ronald McPhatter and a speedy recovery to Troy Ave. The movement will not be stopped.”
