Dave East’s Latest Freestyle Emphatically States His Place In The Game (Video)

Dave East links with Funkmaster Flex for a video freestyle. There, the Harlem, New Yorker locks in for an extended series of bars that combines his hunger for more, with his formative past. In his zone, the Nas co-signed MC is clearly influenced by the mid-2000s mixtape wave of emphatic cadences and ricochet rhymes. With short, succinct bars, East touches on food, denim, destinations, and friends—all of which pertain to his story of being discovered.

Often subdued in his burgeoning video freestyle series, Funk’ Flex shows some delight from his fellow New Yorker, as he smoothly shifts over instrumentals, never running short on content or conviction.
