Joell Ortiz & Chris Rivers Say What They Feel And Some Might Get Hurt (Audio)

Joell Ortiz, Chris Rivers, and Whispers have a close working relationship. These three New York City MCs share an affinity for hard-nosed, in-your-face raps that combine wit, arrogance, and a ton of swagger on the microphone. Teaming with a producer each work with often (Domingo), they go as hard as possible on “What I Feel.”

As Ortiz’s opening verse plainly states, this is not about softening the blows. This is Rap music that disregards comfort zones, from Rivers spitting at the President-Elect, from Joell frightening eight year-old minds with uncomfortable news, between Whispers’ chorus. The two “Latino, Pt. 2” and “Kill At Will: The Final Chapter” participants appear to bring out some of the best art out of each other.
