REKS Returns Home With A Large Professor Track To See What Is Gone (Video)

REKS lets the “lyricals” shine on this fittingly back-to-basics video for “Gone Baby Gone.” This is his latest Large Professor-produced song and is about some of the issues that this generation faces, deemed “critical” by the Massachusetts MC. REKS’ hometown, the City of Lawrence, provides an industrial, seemingly desolate backdrop that compliments his cautionary rhymes. The bleak, isolated feel captured in the video gives it an underlying post-apocalyptic vibe, perhaps implying that “these kids today” will not only become figuratively, but maybe even literally “gone.”

“Gone Baby Gone” is a single off The Greatest X (pronounced “The Greatest Unknown,” “X” being a variable in mathematical language), which was released in September. The two-disc LP features other New England heavyweights like Edo G, Termanology, Akrobatik and Boston-bred DJ/producer Statik Selektah, prominent underground MCs like Planet Asia, Reef the Lost Cauze and Guilty Simpson, as well as production from celebrated producers like Buckwild, Nottz, Black Milk and Alchemist.
