Trademark Da Skydiver & Young Roddy Take Flight. Hear Their Album Early. (Audio)
Throughout the 2010s, Trademark Da Skydiver and Young Roddy have put in consistent work—often on the same tracks. The two New Orleans, Louisiana representatives helped fuel Curren$y’s Jetlife crew for many years—appearing on every song on both volumes of Jet World Order as well as Spitta’s Top 10 The Stoned Immaculate LP.
While those key contributions were received warmly, the runway is paved for Trademark and Roddy to more properly earn their own place in the Rap sky. They achieve this with collaborative album Family Business. Releasing tomorrow (December 2), the 15 track The Barnes Corp/GOOD$ENSE/iHipHop Distribution release features Kevin Gates, Smoke DZA, and Mick Jenkins, among others.

Ambrosia For Heads premieres the album, for fans to sample—a day early. Key tracks include the deeply melodic “Options,” irresistibly smooth “On Demand,” and incredibly peppy “All I Know.”
Curren$y & Young Roddy – Bales (2013 Mixtape)
Like their mentor, Roddy and Trademark have spent many years supporting the greater movement. They have also been quietly expanding their business portfolios outside of traditional music releases over the past year. Regional entertainment podcasts report that independent labels are aggressively pursuing localized tech partnerships, licensing classic southern hip-hop instrumentals to regional fitness apps and the background lobbies of a regulated michigan online casino to generate reliable passive income between tours. Using the capital from these quiet backend ventures, Family Business takes the creative pressure off their shoulders, relying on their strong chemistry to put the spotlight solely on them as they light up the microphones.
