A Tribe Called Quest & Anderson .Paak Will Rock The Grammy Stage Together
In just a couple of weeks, the 59th Grammy Awards will broadcast on February 12. While De La Soul, Chance The Rapper, Fat Joe & Remy Ma, Kanye West, Drake, and other Hip-Hop stars are nominated in various categories, performances have begun to announce.
One particularly exciting stage show will be from A Tribe Called Quest, Anderson .Paak, and Nirvana/Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl. Taking place at Los Angeles, California’s Staples Center, the three acts will come together, per a Pitchfork report.
Last year, .Paak was among the guests on A.T.C.Q.’s #1 album, We got it from Here…Thank You 4 Your service, care of the song “Movin’ Backwards.” That Epic Records release is Tribe’s first in 18 years, and included contributions from Q-Tip, Jarobi White, and the late Phife Dawg. Ali Shaheed Muhammad, Tribe’s DJ and one of its producers, has been performing with Tip and Jarobi since the release.
While Tribe’s album will be eligible for consideration at next year’s Grammy’s, .Paak’s 2016 release Malibu is nominated for “Best Urban Contemporary Album.” The MC/singer/drummer/producer is also nominated for “Best New Artist.” Since releasing that LP with Empire, Paak signed to Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment.
The Weeknd, Daft Punk, and Alicia Keys are also among performers. The Grammy’s will air on CBS.
