In Observance Of National DJ Day, DJ Scratch Rocks The Bells With Body Tricks (Video)

DJ Scratch was recently knighted as “Grandmaster” by Kool Herc for a reason. The longtime DJ for EPMD and Flipmode Squad, who has become a highly accomplished producer has been at the peak of his craft for nearly 30 years.

For a HOT 97 segment with DJ Enuff in honor “National DJ Day” (January 20), the Brooklyn, New Yorker rocks a set that shows how devastating he is behind the Technics 1200s. Rocking LL Cool J’s 1985 hit “Rock The Bells,” Scratch cuts, his mixes, and he spins using his full body to move the cross-fader and the records.

Afterwards, the producer for ONYX, Guru, DMX (and LL) explains how he was inspired by Grandmaster Flash, and came to carve out a career in Hip-Hop.

Previously, Scratch rocked a tandem “Rock The Bells” routine with another 1980s alum, Philadelphia’s DJ Cash Money.
