TDE’s SiR Could Be A New Soul Sensation & His Latest Video Is Proof

Singer/songwriter SiR has announced that his forthcoming EP, Her Too, will drop on Friday, February 10. It will be the first project the Inglewood, California artist releases since he was signed to Top Dawg Entertainment, the label that’s home to Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul, ScHoolboy Q, Isaiah Rashad, and Lance Skiiiwalker. Arguably one of Hip-Hop’s most successful imprints, TDE has expanded well beyond Rap, making SiR a perfect fit. His Soul sensibilities combined with his Inglewood upbringing have resulted in a unique perspective, which is showcased on “W$ Boy,” which he released in January.

SiR Is The Latest Signee To TDE & He Brings A Ton Of Soul (Video)

Today (February 8), he drops the video for “All In My Head,” an impassioned take on a love that’s hard to shake, and it’s accompanied by a new video. Featured on SiR’s 2016 EP Her, the song now has accompanying visuals that find SiR in a dark, empty parking lot as he tries to convince himself to walk away from love’s embrace. “I should be leaving, I should be walking out the door/Don’t really need it, but you keep me wanting more,” he croons in the song’s opening. Slight octave changes and incredibly emotive passages in the song make it a true contemporary Soul ballad, which makes the subdued visual approach so effective; the song’s pained lyrics are given the room to speak for themselves, while SiR’s expressive performance is just enough to make his pain palpable.
