Wu-Tang Clan Are Releasing A New Album And It’s Coming Soon (Audio)

Yesterday, the Hip-Hop community was set ablaze when a brand new song from Wu-Tang Clan, titled “People Say,” mysteriously appeared. The song which featured Method Man, Raekwon, Masta Killa, Inspectah Deck and honorary Wu member, Redman, came with no indication of whether it was the first release for an upcoming new project or simply a loosie. For well over a year, there has been speculation that a new Wu album might be in the making, as RZA has mentioned on several occasions that any new project would be overseen not by himself, but by Ghostface Killah.

Now, less than 24 hours, more information has been revealed, and it’s good news for Wu-Tang Clan fans. The storied collective has announced that it will be releasing a new album on October 13, 2017. Wu-Tang: The Saga Continues will be the first offering from 36 Chambers ALC, a new company founded by RZA and Mustafa Shaikh, in partnership with Entertainment One (eOne), “to house innovative efforts in the music, art, fashion, and literary spaces,” according to a statement released by eOne. 36 Chambers ALC’s fashion arm also will launch a new vegan accessories line, The Pineapple Collection, in the coming months.

Contrary to his past statements, RZA has retained his executive producer status for the album, and longtime Wu affiliate DJ Mathematics will handle creative production for the LP. Wu-Tang: The Saga Continues will be a star-studded affair, featuring contributions from Wu members RZA, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killa, Inspektah Deck, and Masta Killa, as well as verses from ODB. It is unclear whether the vocals from ODB have been previously released or not. In addition to Wu-Tang members, featured artists include Redman, Sean Price and more.

Of the new album, RZA says “For years, Math has had the idea of putting together a body of music using modern and legendary equipment such as ASR10 with vocal performances by Wu-Tang Clan members and other prominent MCs. With The Saga Continues he’s created a masterpiece. We at 36 Chambers ALC are honored to work with Mathematics and Wu-Tang Clan to put out a great piece of art.”
