TDE’s SiR Leaves Inglewood For A Snowy & Seductive Getaway (Video)
In less than 24 hours, SiR will release his November album. Slated for January 19, this LP marks TDE’s first album release of 2018. The Black Panther soundtrack will soon follow on February 9, before Jay Rock’s third (presently untitled) album is expected to arrive.
Throughout the decade, TDE has redefined and updated the sound of neighborhoods and cities in and around its home of Los Angeles, California. Kendrick Lamar stepped forth as a good kid from the “m.A.A.d city” of Compton. Jay Rock is a product of one of the most notorious housing communities within the historic city of Watts. Meanwhile, ScHoolboy Q has elevated and updated the sound, claiming L.A. proper.

SiR is the latest in the SoCal pod of artists. Hailing from the same city of Inglewood that Hip-Hop/R&B has gotten to know through Mack 10, Omarion, and Thurz, SiR shares a completely different sound and vibe.
“Summer In November” illustrates SiR’s range, both musically and stylistically. The singer hits Ontario, Canada (according to VIBE) for a smooth, melodic treatment. There are two shots playing, showing the seduction of the retreat outdoors, and the romantic aftermath inside. His lyrics allude to “playin’ Marvin for the mood,” in his own spacey Soul picnic. The images in the video may be cold, but the track is hot. Based on what he’s shown listeners so far, SiR is for all seasons.

Heads have previously heard SiR on LPs by Anderson .Paak, EarthGang, Isaiah Rashad, and Jay Rock. In 2015, he dropped Seven Sundays.
