Though Nas Has His Back, Dave East Shows He Can Prosper On His Own (Video)

Hi. We recently created AFH TV, Ambrosia For Heads’ streaming video service, because we believe real Hip-Hop deserves its own dedicated TV home. But, there are doubters, so, we need your help. If you have enjoyed anything on AFH over the last 7 years, we are asking you to subscribe to AFH TV. It is only $1.99/month or $12/year, and already features some amazing content, but the best is yet to come. Thank you for all of your support.

Dave East presented fans with his Paranoia 2 mixtape at the top of the year. It contains 15 tracks and features from T.I., Lloyd Banks, Tory Lanez, and others. Aside from the Harlem native’s knack for ear-catching bars is his ability to release a steady stream of videos off of projects he releases. The same now can be said about his latest visual.

East just dropped the video for “Prosper,” which features him and his daughter and portrays his struggles transitioning from a nobody into a somebody. It figuratively shows him in similar conditions to how he was raised and ends with him with a nice car and luxurious home, which he attributes to a music career, and presumably, some help from mentor Nas.

Heavenly scented, the Dodge was rented,” he raps on the P2 inclusion. “Tryna prosper by any means, I’m / Malcolm in a Detroit fitted / I got the scars from my life of war / I love the rap, but I don’t like the talk / I get excited if the white is soft.

Previously, Dave East dropped videos for “Perfect,” featuring Chris Brown and “The Hated,” featuring Nas. Back in February, he dropped a loosie called “Set It Off.” This latest video though is proof positive that Dave East is on a roll and living out his verses’ goals.
