J. Cole Says He Has The Best Flow Since Biggie On A Devastating New Freestyle (Video)

J. Cole is about to embark on his KOD Tour, hitting 36 cities across North America, and has been strategically building anticipation as the days get closer to the kickoff in Miami (August 9, 2018). Having previously tweeted out “Feed me beats. Everything gettin murdered.,” Cole has now dropped a new music video for his “Album of the Year (Freestyle),” which features him going in over the beat from Nas’ “Oochie Wally.”

Dropping exclusively on WorldStarHipHop, the video begins with the written words “What you are about to witness is a master class on preparation. THE OFF-SEASON.” before getting right into the freestyle verse. The verse itself has Cole rhyming on a stream of consciousness, spitting some braggadocios bars filled with slick wordplay that he’s proven time and time again he can pull off. Towards the end he spits “KOD: Album of the Year, undebatably / My cadence be the greatest we’ve / seen since the late MC, whose name was The / Notorious, Dreamville stacked like the Warriors,” and continues on to hint at upcoming releases from his Dreamville Records artists Bas and J.I.D.

What may be even more exciting than the freestyle itself is the hint at a new J. Cole mixtape coming soon. Along with the words at the start of the video, the description on Youtube reads “The Off Season coming soon… All roads lead to The Fall Off – Cole,” indicating that Cole has a new mixtape lined up before his next album, the previously announced The Fall Off. This would be J. Cole’s first mixtape since 2010’s critically acclaimed Friday Night Lights.

Time will tell when exactly all of these Dreamville releases will drop, but for now J. Cole will be on tour, joined by Young Thug, Jaden Smith, and EarthGang.
