Escobar Season Has Returned. Nas Reunites With Karl Kani For A Clothing Line

Since the Karl Kani street clothing brand was relaunched in 2016, it has reintroduced the company’s vibrant but rugged aesthetic which saw the Kani signature logo stitched across the chest of most big-name rappers and R&B singers of the early-1990s era. Icons like Tupac, the Notorious B.I.G., Puff Daddy, Nas, and Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth all sported the distinct rugby shirts and baggy jeans. Not much has changed, as some of those exact same designs now adorn stars like the Migos, Joey Bada$$, PNB Rock, YBN Nahmir, Teyana Taylor, YG, and A$AP Rocky.

However, Nas is still rocking with the brand that he modeled for during the late 1990s and early 2000s.

The Karl Kani site had announced that the Fall/Winter collection would be available on September 30 with a countdown. And the company’s Instagram account had also teased a remix of its classic 1996 ad campaign featuring Nas, back in June. Well, as of Monday, September 27, a tweet from Nas himself revealed a new capsule collection that was designed in collaboration with his HSTRY clothing line.

According to the tweet, the pieces will be available at both company websites, as well as at the Urban Outfitters chain. The line has been dubbed “Escobar Season,” and judging by the photos in the post, it seems to include a rugby, a jersey sweatshirt, a jacket, and possibly matching pants. However, this may only be the initial reveal, with more to be unveiled in the coming weeks.
