Black Thought Is Releasing His Next Solo Project In Less Than 2 Weeks

In June, Black Thought partnered with 9th Wonder and The Soul Council to release Streams Of Thought, Vol. 1. The moment marked the first solo vocal project from The Roots MC. One of Hip-Hop’s most respected lyricists has just confirmed reports that he has another installment on the way—and he’s got details.

According to an announcement video, on November 26, 2018, Thought is partnering with Salaam Remi to release Streams Of Thought, Vol. 2: Traxploitation. Remi is known for his award-winning work with Amy Winehouse, The Fugees, Nas, Miguel, Ini Kamoze, and others. Last year, he was also confirmed to be one of the producers of The Roots’ forthcoming LP. He also created the No Panty group of Joell Ortiz, Nitty Scott MC, and Bodega BAMZ.

The project is nine songs, according to Black Thought. It was recorded over three studio sessions at Remi’s Miami, Florida mansion studio.

Hip-Hop Heads best know Salaam for songs including Nas’ “Made You Look” and “Thief’s Theme,” as well as The Fugees’ “Fu-Gee-La.”

The first installment in the Streams Of Thought series is five songs. Rapsody who is from the same Jamla Records team founded by 9th and produced by Soul Council joined Styles P as a guest. Upon that release, Thought confirmed two other works in the cannon. This year he also formed a group with Phonte and Rhymefest. Last Friday, the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native appeared on 9th Wonder Presents… Jamla Is The Squad II.
