Pusha-T & Benny Are Top Contenders On A Collabo That Moves Heavy Weight (Audio)

Benny has come a mighty long way in just a few short years. He’s transcended from being Westside Gunn and Conway The Machine’s figurative little brother, to having an elite Rap profile. Many Heads became fans of the Buffalo MC with the release of his DJ Green Lantern mixtape, Butcher On Ster*ids, in 2017, or his 38 Spesh collabo project titled St*bbed & Sh*t that dropped in early 2018, but the more recent Tana Talk 3 is what gave him true deliverance. The official debut was jointly produced by The Alchemist and Daringer, and proved he was one of the most talented up and coming names in reality Rap.

Since then he has received praise from tastemakers and gatekeepers alike, including Hip-Hop billionaire JAY-Z. In fact, his latest video for “’97 Hov” is currently exclusively available on Jay’s streaming service, Tidal. Benny was also among the elite few invited to Dreamville’s recording sessions for Revenge Of The Dreamers III.

Westside Gunn, Conway & Benny Will Never Compromise The Griselda Sound (Video Interview)

All the attention has involved Benny with DJ Premier, Ghostface Killah, Styles P, Jim Jones, and now Pusha-T. The “18 Wheeler” match seems perfect as King Push is well known for his witty bars that outline hustling in exquisite detail, and B.E.N.N.Y. has been commended by critics for his intricate tales of trafficking as well.

Pusha also had a banner year in 2018 with the release of his fully Kanye West-produced album DAYTONA, named one of Ambrosia For Heads’ best of the year. That LP also earned the Clipse and Re-Up Gang co-founder a Grammy nomination. So, fans of each have been eager to hear these in-demand artists collaborate on a track. “Only I can coke-rap this glamorous / The only dr*g dealer out in Fashion Week / With an 80-20 split like Master P / Why would I ever 50-50? You ain’t half of me / Benny The Butcher comin’ after me.” DJ Shay provides a sinister beat complemented with scratches.
