The 1st Look At Bad Boys For Life Is Pretty Epic. Will & Martin Are Back (Video)
The trailer for the third and final installment in the Bad Boys trilogy has been revealed. Titled Bad Boys For Life as both a nod to a Bad Boys II quote and an excuse to employ a cinematic remix of P. Diddy’s “Bad Boys For Life.”
The movie is slated to release on January 17, 2020. It’s been 16 years since the release of Bad Boys II and 24 calendars since the original film debuted, but both Will Smith and Martin Lawrence still have it in them to prove to audiences their on-screen chemistry is running at high energy. The trailer shows that the film has integrity and humor from the pair of actors.
A third Bad Boys movie has been in development for some time. However, reports suggested that director Michael Bay, who gave an explosive touch to the first two films in the franchise, stated a limited budget would not be realistic for another entry in the buddy cop comedy film saga. According to a brief statement given by Will Smith in 2008, Michael Bay became a huge name in Hollywood after Bad Boys II, which in turn made Bay a very expensive director to hire. In conjunction with Will Smith’s meteoric rise since the mid-1990s, the two working on the same project greatly altered production costs. After years of attempts to gather the right creative force to helm the project, it was revealed early last year that Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah would direct the film, taking from a screenplay written by Joe Carnahan and Chris Bremner.
The movie is set to star Martin Lawrence reprising their roles as “Detective Lieutenant Marcus Burnett” and Will Smith as “Detective Lieutenant Michael Lowrey.” Together, they team up one last night to tackle a Romanian mob boss before their respective retirement from the police force.
Bad Boys For Life will also feature Joe Pantoliano, making his return as Captain Conrad Howard. Other notable cast members include Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, and a cameo by DJ Khaled playing a character named “Manny The Butcher.” Filming took place in Atlanta, Georgia and Miami, Florida, and wrapped up last June. The movie is set to release 25 years after the debut of Bad Boys, this January 2020.
