Your Old Droog Makes An Ode To His Guitar Playing & Studio Gear (Audio)

From Wyclef Jean to Lil Wayne to B.o.B., plenty of top rappers play guitar these days. You might not know it, but Your Old Droog is keen on the strings too. “48th Street” honors the days of hittin’ Sam Ash, Guitar Center, and all the bygone Manhattan music shops (Manny’s Music) to try out gear, save up for something meaningful, and pick up a new talent.

The track is driven by a fuzzy guitar loop, as Droog explains that even as his name gets bigger, Heads won’t see him with an axe on stage until his pockets are over-stuffed with funds.
