Twenty-five years ago last August, Tha Alkaholiks’ 21 & Over was released on the fledgling Loud Records. At a time of Gangsta Rap, the West Coast-based group the trio of Tash, J-Ro, and E-Swift had a new kind of flavor. The collective was mentored by Compton Rap O.G., King T. However, they ushered in a party vibe. Singles like “Likwit,” “Mary Jane” and “Make Room” became cult favorites and were the highlights of a relatively short, 10-track effort.

Four additional titles followed before 2006’s swan song, Firewater. Additionally, the trio established the Likwit Crew, a collective that was instrumental to the early material by Xzibit, Madlib, and Phil Da Agony, among others. In recent years, The Liks have released several compilations, as well as made appearances on albums by former Loud label-mates Sadat X and Xzibit, as well as Diamond D. A collaborative “LikNuts” LP with The Beatnuts has also been announced as near complete, though never released.

Now, the trio of Tash, J-Ro, and E-Swift are joining forces once again for an anniversary tour to celebrate their 25th anniversary of their debut LP.

Beginning in March, The Liks will embark on an 11-date national tour. They will begin their journey on the 17th in Indianapolis and will end in the Pacific Northwest in Bellingham, Washington. OTOW’s Mic Flont, Khingz, and Massiah will also join the trio. See the dates and locations below.

On the solo tip, Tash (who like E-Swift, is originally an Ohio native) released a 2009 LP called Control Freek. Meanwhile, J-Ro released 818 Antics, Vol. 2 in 2013.

Earlier this month, DMX announced a tour in celebration of 20 years since It’s Dark And Hell Is Hot.
