DMX Has Overdosed And Is In Critical Condition

On Friday (April 2), legendary rapper DMX reportedly overdosed at his home in White Plains, New York. TMZ reported that the man born Earl Simmons is currently hospitalized and in “grave condition.” The publication reports that some sources have alleged that the Ruff Ryders artist suffered a heart attack. Some sources have told the site that the 50-year-old’s brain activity may be compromised. X is currently in hospitalization at a nearby critical care unit. There has been no word as to what substance X was using.

The reports come during a long history of DMX and addiction struggles. Most recently, in 2019, X checked himself into rehab. It was the same year that he returned home from a lengthy prison sentence for tax evasion. In his second Drink Champs appearance, X recently spoke about his first Def Jam Records album in over 15 years. The move was discussed on a recent episode of What’s The Headline. The  Last year, X reunited with The LOX on “Bout Sh*t” in addition to a Verzuz battle against Snoop Dogg.
