Kanye West Reportedly Joins Puff Daddy’s Hitmen
This past weekend Puff Daddy made an unforeseen announcement via Instagram that he is now back in the studio with his production team The Hitmen (a/k/a Puffy’s Hitmen).
This is Sean Comb’s first album since releasing Last Train To Paris in 2010 and he is now back in the studio with members Chucky Thompson, Deric “D-Dot” Angelettie, Sean C & LV, Stevie J, Mario Winans, Nashiem Myrick—and newest addition, Kanye West.
Here is the Instagram announcement:
This isn’t the first time Diddy and ‘Ye have worked together. Puff Daddy has production credit on Kanye’s recent single “All Day” featuring Allan Kingdom and Paul McCartney.
The Hitmen are known for their successful catalog of award-winning work with artists such as The L.O.X., The Notorious B.I.G., Mary J. Blige, Mase, Jay Z, and many more. Although he is the newest extension to the team, this isn’t Kanye’s first association with the members of The Hitmen. D-Dot, (a/k/a The Mad Rapper), took Kanye under his wing as his former mentor, manager and co-producer. Although the two worked closely with each other, West made claims that in his early career, he was “ghost-producing” for Angelettie, which later caused friction between the two for a period of time.
This leaves curious minds wondering how the relationship between the two will result in their new “Hitmen” endeavors for this upcoming 2015 year.
Notably, Kanye—who leads his own production ensemble at G.O.O.D. Music, is now assisting another proven team.
Is this a side of Mr. West Heads haven’t seen since his uber-stardom?
