The LOX Have Signed To Roc Nation & Are Releasing A New Album This Month

Roc Nation is looking like it wants to run the table on lyrical MCs. Starting with J. Cole, the label has assembled a roster that includes Jay Electronica, Vic Mensa, Rapsody, and now…The LOX. The trio of Jadakiss, Styles P and Sheek Louch is the latest to join the company helmed by Jay Z.

It is not altogether surprising that The LOX would join forces with Hov. The MCs have collaborated with Jay a number of times over the years, whether it be individually or at full strength. As he showed with many of his Roc-A-Fella signings, like Memphis Bleek and Beanie Sigel, Jay has always had a penchant for gritty, hard-nosed rappers. There are few MCs grimier than Jada, Styles and Sheek, as even in the “shiny suit” days of Bad Boy, they kept it gully.

On a day that includes the announcements of albums coming from J. Cole, Pete Rock & CL Smooth, and Run The Jewels, The LOX keep the good times rolling, as they reveal their next album will hit stores and streaming services (likely only TIDAL) on December 16. Though they were rumored to be working on We Are The Streets 2, the album will be titled Filthy America…it’s beautiful. The title certainly captures the complexity with which our nation has been viewed over the last year.

To say 2016 is ending with a bang with be a massive understatement.
