Remy Ma & Lil Kim Send A Wake Up Call To Nicki Minaj About Who’s The Queen Bee (Video)

For the last few years, Remy Ma and Nicki Minaj have been engaged in a back and forth that has ranged from cold war to full on nuclear attack. For every move there has been a counter-move, so it comes as no surprise that, a day after Nicki attempted to break the internet with her head-turning Paper magazine cover, Remy releases the video for “Wake Me Up,” her blistering barrage aimed at Nicki, featuring Lil Kim.

The song is a re-interpretation of Lil Kim’s classic, “Queen B@#$H.” In speaking with Zane Lowe, Remy said of the record, “I wanted to pay homage to Kim. I feel like she is like the Madonna of the Hip-Hop world to me. I’m like, ‘Listen, I want you on this record, but I just want you to be Kim. I want you to be the girl that was squatting down in a leopard thong.” In celebrating Kim, it fits that Remy would also take shots at Minaj. Kim also has had her problems with Nicki over the years, believing Minaj has blatantly ripped off her style, look and antics, without giving credit where it is due.

Remy speaks out for Kim in verse 2, which she opens with “I’m rich, I’mma stay that b*tch! / You fake-ass b*tch / You owe homage, pay that sh*t!,” presumably with Nicki in mind. Remy also addresses the many barbs Nicki has thrown her way, rapping “Spray that fif’, the crown, I’mma take that sh*t. ‘Cause you a clown and Homey don’t play that sh*t! / See, they ain’t slick, be talkin’ all cray and sh*t / And then you see ’em, they be like that they ain’t say that sh*t!” Remy also takes shots at Nicki’s relationship with Nas and her brother who was recently convicted for sexual assault of a minor.

Kim joins Remy in the video and, in many shots, she literally has Remy’s back. Both MCs are stylishly dressed, as they are shown in a number of settings, ranging from riverside to flashy cars to gritty warehouses. It remains to be seen whether Nicki will respond to this latest attack.
