Raekwon sat down with DJ Booth as part of their “Inside The Verse” series and broke down the lyrics to Only Built 4 Cuban Linx‘s “Criminology.” Rather than a standard word for word dissection of the song, Rae’ chose select bars and talked about some of the realities on which they were based. He spoke about the days when he was selling drugs and the street etiquette that accompanied the hustle. He also discussed what he was seeking to accomplish with the style of his rhyme delivery.

The Chef’s comments extended to Ghostface Killah’s verse, as well, as he broke down some of the intricate metaphors found in Starks’ opening lines. Raekwon’s F.I.L.A. (Fly International Luxury Art) album is in stores now. Check out the video.
