Vic Mensa Releases the Official Version of His Kanye West Collaboration. U Mad? (Audio)

Vic Mensa has been steadily putting in grind time for more than 6 years. The Chicago MC burst onto the scene in 2009 as part of the Hip-Hop band, Kids These Days. While a member of the group, Mensa and the Kids released a dark and stirring version of Kanye West’s “Flashing Lights.” Shortly after that, in 2013, Vic went solo and released his Innanet Tape mixtape, gaining a host of new fans with it.

Over the last few years, Mensa has steadily been garnering attention from artists and insiders, participating in the 2014 BET Hip Hop Awards Cyphers, and recently landing on the radar of his fellow Chicagoan, Mr. West. In a whirlwind few days, West pulled Mensa in to record on West’s “Wolves” record, which he premiered during NYC Fashion Week at his event for the Adidas Yeezy Boosts.

Now, Kanye returns the favor and adds a verse to Mensa’s new record, “U Mad.” Though snippets have been released over the last few weeks, Vic has just put out the full master-quality version. The song features big trap drums and even bigger Gothic horns. Check it out.
