Yasiin Bey (f/k/a Mos Def) has been vocal in the past about his love for fellow underground MC, MF DOOM. Bey has spent the past few months releasing videos of himself performing live covers of his favorite DOOM tracks as a project he’s called BEYONDOOM.

The visual EP sees Yasiin rapping seemingly in the middle of nowhere (but actually in France), covering his face the way MF DOOM has (since the death of his brother/KMD band-mate Subroc) in all but one of the seven videos.

The songs he covers include “Beef Rapp,” “Strange Ways,” “Accordion,” “Curls,” “All Caps,” “Rainbows,” “Fancy Clown,” “Fazers,” and “Microwave Mayo.” Check out the video playlist below:

While notably working with many of the same artists throughout their career (Gorillaz, De La Soul, Oh No), the pair of 1990s New York City underground Hip-Hop pillars have never worked together.
