Def Diggin’ It. Redman & Lord Finesse Kick A Freestyle Together (Audio)

Following last month’s BET Hip Hop Awards Cypher, so many people are talking about Redman’s freestyle skills. Tech N9ne told AFH this past week that Reggie Noble “murdered everything” in regards to the Beanie Sigel instrumental track, alongside Def Squad comrades Erick Sermon and Keith Murray, as well as DJ Scratch. Redman even revealed later, that reps from Twitter contacted him, citing record surges of online activity surrounding the cypher.

With a new album in stores (Mudface), Redman hits Tony Touch’s Sirius XM radio show. There, he is joined by a fellow early 1990s Rap peer, Lord Finesse. Although it’s brief, the moment pairs a white-hot Funk Doc lyricist, with one of Hip-Hop’s all-time freestyle luminaries. Def Squad meets Diggin’ In The Crates, and Heads may want more of this cross-crew chemistry. This kind of combination of two cliques, two styles, and mutual respect is a radio quickie reminiscent of those DJ Stretch Armstrong & Bobbito days.

Props to Old To The New for spotting this.
