Taylor Bennett Turns A Health Scare Into A Beautiful New York City Night (Audio)
Chicago’s Taylor Bennett, Chance The Rapper’s talented younger brother, links with Brooklyn’s Stro and singer Jordan Bratton on “New York Nights.” The song is the product of a health scare the MC experienced while visiting the city after the release of his debut project, Broad Shoulders. Upon learning that he had developed a blood-clot, Bennett felt inspired to create. So he used a networking app for musicians called Treble to find some other like-minded young artists to record with, and this therapeutic record is the result.
“New York Nights” is a heartfelt, soulful, piano-driven song about each of the rappers’ respective vexations, aspirations and the healing power of music. It is the first single off Bennett’s upcoming EP.
