Nicki Minaj Breaks Her Silence About Her Cardi B Fight & Pulls No Punches

Late Friday (September 7), rappers Cardi B and Nicki Minaj were involved in a red carpet altercation during a Harper’s Bazaar New York Fashion Week event. Since the incident, which was partially caught on video, Cardi B released a statement on social media. The Bronx, New Yorker claimed she was fed up with her peer trying to blackball her in the industry and criticizing her mothering. Now, Nicki Minaj has released her side of things.

On her Queen Radio show on Beats 1, the Queens, New Yorker addressed the issue at the onset. “Let me just say this,” Minaj began, with Cardi criticizer, Funkmaster Flex, in the guest seat. “The other night, I was a part of something so mortifying and humiliating to go through in front of the upper echelon…people who have their lives together. The way they passed by looking at this disgusting commotion, I will never forget. I was mortified. I could not believe how humiliating it all felt…how we made ourselves look,” she said, according to Us Weekly.

Minaj also denied the charges that Cardi has laid upon her. “I wanna say that I would never discuss anyone’s child…I would never talk about anyone’s child or parenting. It’s so crazy to me that people always need to make [me] the bad guy. When you have to say that I said or did something that I never said or did…I am not a clown. That’s clown sh*t.”

Per XXL, Nicki also refuted the allegations of blackballing. However, in stating her innocence, Minaj took a shot at Cardi’s pen and business practices. “I didn’t stop no bags. Give me a break. She has built her career off sympathy and payola,” said the Young Money/Cash Money star MC. Funk Flex, who has a longtime post at HOT 97, has previously accused Cardi and her camp of paying-for-plays as recently as last month. On her show, Nicki suggests other favors behind the scenes. “You came into my f*ckin’ culture. I never had to f*ck a DJ to play my songs!”

Elsewhere, she called Cardi a “disgusting pig,” and mentioned an August report that Cardi ordered the physical assault of two female bartenders at a New York City strip club due to their allegedly sleeping with her husband Offset. “You [are] calling Black women roaches, you getting girls beat up because of what your man [is] doing,” Minaj asserted. “Real b*tches never do that. You never attack the woman. You take that up with your f*cking man.”

Yesterday (September 9), Nicki Minaj posted a video of herself listening to Queen track “Hard White.” While Nicki said the song was written more than a year ago, it raised many eyebrows with bars like “Unlike a lot of these h*es whether wack or lit / At least I can say I wrote every rap I spit.
