Method Man And Redman Are Still Kings Of The Rap Jungle (Audio)

On December 11, Method Man will release Meth Lab II: The Lithium, a follow-up to its 2015 predecessor. The self-released album will feature Snoop Dogg, N.O.R.E., Heltah Skeltah’s Rock, Cappadonna, Masta Killa, Sheek Louch and more, including everyone’s favorite co-hort, Redman.

Together, Red and Meth are kings of the Rap jungle on “Wild Cats,” the latest single from Meth Lab II. “This is how you make a song, n*gga,” Meth says before he begins spitting his opening verse. He bounces atop the Lordz of Brooklyn-produced track while boasting “The crown they give me don’t even fit me” and saying “I’m pushing 50, can’t find your woman? She pushin’ with me.” For his contribution, Red is, well, wild. “When I ain’t sober, I’m bi-polar / Invite me over / Doc be dumpin’ his ashes in your baby stroller,” he says in his opening line before adding “Tell your boss I’m the opposite of a Trump voter / Yo, Duke, this Wild Cat not from Villanova.”

“Wild Cats,” which also features Wu-Tang clan affiliate (and curator of the ongoing Meth Lab series) Hanz On and longtime collaborator Streetlife, follows “Grand Prix” as the lead single from Meth’s forthcoming LP. In an August 2018 interview with Billboard, Method Man said he’s excited for this album, in particular, because he’s able to enjoy rapping more.  “It made it fun for me again,” he said at the time.
