Royce 5’9 Is Ready To Do Bad Meets Evil 2 & Challenges Fans To Rally Eminem

A lot happened with two of Royce 5’9’s groups in 2018. The Detroit, Michigan MC’s partnership with DJ Premier, PRhyme, released its second album in the early part of the year. Meanwhile, Slaughterhouse—a quartet that Nickel Nine has been part of for the last decade, formally dissolved not long after PRhyme 2 dropped. Having also released his acclaimed Book Of Ryan solo album, Royce is now rallying fans to yield more music from his third group, Bad Meets Evil.

Royce and Eminem founded the duo in the late 1990s, releasing an eponymous track on The Slim Shady LP, then two additional cuts: “Scary Movies” and “Nuttin’ To Do.” More than a decade later, the two friends and collaborators rekindled their relationship to release the gold-certified 2011 album, Hell: The Sequel. Royce and Marshall have seemingly remained close ever since.

This week at a show in Australia, Royce called upon his fanbase to beckon a new B.M.E. installment. “I want y’all to start up a hashtag called #BadMeetsEvil2, and I want you to spam the f*ck out of Eminem’s [Instagram] and Twitter accounts. Tell him that I told you to do it. Can y’all do that for me?” HipHopDX published the video captured by Southpawer Official.

This year, fans got a fresh taste of that Royce and Em’ chemistry on video single, “Caterpillar.”

Over the last 48 hours, Royce 5’9 was dissed by Toronto, Ontario singer/rapper Tory Lanez on social media. The incident began after a fan asked Royce if he thought Lanez was the victor in last month’s battle with Joyner Lucas. Nickel Nine responded “No.” Hours later, Tory—who was not tagged in Royce’s exchange, criticized the veteran and his place in the game.

Although Lanez’ tweet from December 17 is since deleted, Vlad TV reports that the double-threat said, “That’s why you rappidy ass ni**as always had the wrong conception of a W…shows why y’all careers look how they look now.”

Royce responded to the words with diplomacy and some dismissal.

Royce complimented the rapper, while pointing out his disrespect. Tory deleted the tweet and mourned the passing of an early supporter, Eric Clegg.

Royce wasted no time replying, and warning the rapper that he was entering dangerous ground, physically. “My ni**a…if you try’na get yo muf*ckin’ ass beat, you [are] doing everything right… I’m giving you the benefit of the doubt because you Canadian,” he replied. This is the latest in a developing story.
