RIP Frankie Knuckles, the Godfather of House Music
Rest in peace to Frankie Knuckles, the Godfather of House Music. Knuckles passed away yesterday at the age of 59, due to complications related to diabetes. Though he was born in the Bronx, Knuckles moved to Chicago and became a dominant force in the House scene there. He produced a number of classics, including The Whistle Song. Our condolences go out to his family and friends.
Here’s a stellar DJ set Knuckles did at the Boiler Room last year.
