RZA & Ghostface Take Their Rhymes To A New Sonic Chamber (Audio)

Over the last 10 years, Wu-Tang Clan’s sound has been challenged. Individually, members of the Shaolin collective have worked with Rage Against The Machine’s Tom Morello (GZA), James Blake (RZA), The Black Keys (Raekwon), and MSTRKRT (Ghostface Killah). This all happened, additional to the whole clique on System Of A Down’s “Shame.”

Now, RZA and Interpol vocalist Paul Banks have teamed to form group, Banks & Steele. The Essex, England-born singer whose band maintains three Top 10-charting albums over the last decade recently opened pop-up shops with RZA in New York City and Los Angeles, California. Following that deed, the pair unleashes their first audio look in “Love + War,” featuring none other than RZA’s brother-in-law and esteemed Wu-Tang swordsman, Ghostface Killah.

The genre-blending single features a peppy rhythm, with some detailed accents. As expected by the title, the song details drama that goes with loving somebody. Ghost’ airs out the incidents of broken jewelry, fighting, and keyed cars, after passionate courtships. RZA bridges Paul’s chorus, before the Abbott chronicles his own relationship, a love gone wrong.

Expect more to come, at will, from Banks & Steele.

UPDATE: (May 20) Banks & Steele released the video to “Love + War”:
