The Music of Bun B, Pimp C and B.B. King Comes Together in a Mashup From Kingz (Audio)
Last month, Amerigo Gazaway, the producer behind the amazing Yasiin Gaye project which blended the sounds of Yasiin Bey (fka Mos Def) and Marvin Gaye, announced that his newest mashup LP would feature the songs of UGK and B.B. King. Like Yasiin Gaye, B.B. & The Underground Kingz: The Trill is Gone will be a complete re-imagination of the artists’ work, fusing their music into a seamless collaboration. Rather than a mix, it will sound like they actually worked together in recording the project.
The first song released was “The Trill Is Gone” which combined elements of King’s “The Thrill is Gone” with UGK’s “One Day.” Gazaway’s second release from B.B. & The Underground Kingz: The Trill is Gone is “Make Love to My Car,” which taps Willie Dixon’s “I Just Wanna Make Love to You,” as performed by King, and merges it with Bun and Pimp’s “Ride [F*ck] My Car” vocals. Take a listen below, and stay tuned for the entire B.B. & The Underground Kingz: The Trill is Gone project, which will be released next week.
