Ghostface Gets The Party Started With A Banger From His Upcoming Album (Video)

Tomorrow makes it August. Currently on the release calendar, that month has albums from Common, Rick Ross, and Joell Ortiz planned. It is also expected to see the release of GhostfaceKillahs, the straightforward-titled upcoming LP from the Wu-Tang Clan O.G.

Ghost’ has been on a prolific tear in the last year. He released The Lost Tapes, produced by Ghost, LTD last October. At the top of this year, Tony Starks linked with Wu brother Inspectah Deck and 7L & Esoteric for Ghostface Meets Czarface. G.F.K. also participated in a Wu EP released in conjunction with this year’s Showtime documentary by Sacha Jenkins (Wu-Tang: Of Mics And Men).

The GhostfaceKillahs campaign launched earlier this month with “Conditioning,” a heist-themed music video and short film. That story-line picks up in “Party Over Here.” After forcibly acquiring some cash and jewels, the celebration begins. With organ stabs in the beat, G.F.K. raps to the camera while sitting in V.I.P. alongside his Ironman co-host Cappadonna. The Rebel I.N.S. (who released an album, Chamber No. 9, earlier this month) also hangs in the club.

Starks spits rhymes using chess to illustrate how he makes real-life maneuvers and verbally popping an assortment of bottles. The chorus is a chant-driven “party over here,” repping hard for Shaolin. In a catalog that includes “Be Easy” and “We Celebrate,” Ghost’ offers up a new soundtrack to the packed lounge.
