Here’s another Statik Selektah-produced heat rock. This one is by Action Bronson and is called Cliff Notes.

Both the production and Action Bronson's flow would make you swear this came from the late 90's. You can hear elements of Primo in the production and M.O.P. in the verses. Dopeness. The 1982 album by Statik Selektah and Termanology was one of my favorite albums last year. Here’s the video for The Radio off that project.

Like its title suggests, 1982 is throwback hip-hop.  The sound does not reach back to the 80's though.  Instead, it lands in the early to mid-90's, the golden age, and is a return to the boom bap (including scratches from DJ Premier).  You can find more 1982 here and download... Read more

Reek Da Villian and Freeway kick tailor-made flows over this laid back Statik Selektah track called I’m in the Hood.

Statik Selektah drops a cool animated video on a track that sounds like it could have been done in the mid-90s (and I mean that in the best possible way) for the song 17 ft Mac Miller and JFK.

This is from Statik Selektah's album called Leftovers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QNYFSE3AvTI&feature=player_embedded... Read more

Here's another hot one from 1982 (Statik Selektah and Termanology) ft Ghetto and Ea$y Money. This one's called Shut it Down (Virgin MegaStore Boys) ft Ghetto and Ea$y Money.

Statik Selektah's track features a nice flip of one of Chante Moore's quiet storm classics as one of the samples.  For more on 1982, including a free EP, click here. And, here's the Chante Moore (and Keith Washington) song that was chopped (and sped) up quite nicely.... Read more
